Katie White is a wife, mother of three, public school teacher, and American patriot. She is married to her high school sweetheart, Scott White, whom she met in 1996 in New Orleans, LA. Their oldest son graduated in 2020 and is an EMT getting ready to begin paramedic school; their middle daughter is a sophomore in high school; and their youngest daughter is in third grade. Katie received her undergraduate at the University of New Orleans along with her post-baccalaureate in Elementary Education. Having effectively taught in the public sector for 18 years, she understands the how and why behind explicit instruction as well as the complexity and short comings often found in the traditional public sector. Earning her Master’s degree in Educational Administration in 2019, she discovered the vast amounts of bureaucracy involved in students being able to receive their rights to a quality education.
At her core, Katie stands firm on the American Constitution and believes parents are their child’s first educator. Being grounded in a strong faith, she has a servant’s heart and values the sentiments of Ben Carson in his book, Gifted Hands, “Success is determined not by whether or not you face obstacles, but your reaction to them. And if you look at these obstacles as a containing fence, they become your excuse for failure. If you look at them as a hurdle, each one strengthens you for the next.”
In her free time, Katie enjoys spending time with her family and friends in the Colorado outdoors, traveling, lifting weights, volunteering in her community, and reading non-fiction literature.
Kaylee Wecker is a recent college graduate in elementary education. She has taught kindergarten for two years, in both private and Title 1 schools. She will be substituting for DODEA. She enjoys coaching soccer for ages 2-10 in her free time. She creates supplementary design to curriculum and has a media platform.
